[Pacific Link Housing Director, Leoni Baldwin & Tenant]

In February, we hosted our latest Sheila Astolfi Education Scholarship Awards Ceremony. These awards help us to carry on the legacy of Sheila Astofli, founder of Pacific Link Housing, who tirelessly dedicated her life to helping to provide opportunities to people in need.

The ceremony gave us the opportunity to support some of our tenants to reach for their dreams by providing them with the tools to help with their education and studies. In total we awarded eight scholarships to both primary and high school students, as well as some of our mature age students.

Our scholarship recipients received packages varying from computers and laptops to speciality software packages, dependant on their needs and aspirations.

One of our scholarship winners was eight-year-old Zac, who was awarded a computer to help with his school work. He is already a budding computer coder who loves mathematics and aspires to be a YouTuber when he grows up.

Seventeen-year-old Caine was another young tenant to receive the Sheila Astolfi Award. Caine is a promising photographer who has a knack for computers and Photoshop. His new computer and Photoshop package will allow him to start editing his photos and refine his skills as he finishes high school and embarks on his photography career.

Melissa, who also received an award this year, is studying criminal justice and said she is thankful for the six-and-a-half-year relationship she and her daughter have had with Pacific Link Housing.

“Pacific Link has always been there to help,” said Melissa.

We feel privileged to be able to provide opportunities for our tenants and to empower them to create positive outcomes in their lives.
